Welcome to our three new colleagues at EVA bxl

Over the past few weeks, we’ve once again welcomed several enthusiastic colleagues to EVA bxl. Each of them brings a unique background, a wealth of experience, and a great deal of dedication.

Johan recently joined our team as an administrative assistant. Originally from Limburg, he lived in Spain for 25 years before settling in Brussels in 2015. With his experience as an administrative assistant in Brussels’ social sector, he knows the field well. Johan is looking forward to putting his knowledge and expertise to work for EVA bxl, an organization whose social mission he deeply values. Outside of work, you’ll usually find him on his bike. Or rather, always on his bike, because, as he puts it, his three biggest hobbies are biking, biking, and biking.

We’re also welcoming two new faces to the Amori project. Jamila is doing an internship at EVA bxl and brings a wealth of life experience with her. As a mother of three and a social work student at Erasmus Brussels, she knows better than anyone how challenging it can be to juggle different roles. During her internship, she’s contributing to the “Together for a Diploma” and “Amori” projects. Both projects align closely with her personal experiences and beliefs. Drawing from her own journey as an adult student, she strongly believes in the importance of support and encouragement for adults who want to return to school. In addition, caring for her parents has strengthened her conviction that care is truly high-quality only when it takes into account a person’s culture, values, and life context. She is eager to learn, meet new people, and help make a difference for the people of Brussels.

Together with Jamila, Stephanie will be taking on the role of project coach for Amori. Creating social impact has been the common thread throughout her professional career for more than twenty years. She has worked for organizations such as SAAMO Brussels, the Brussels Social and Cultural Network, the Brede School in Saint-Gilles, and Badje ASBL. In recent years, she has combined her work as a freelancer with her passion for writing and translating. At EVA bxl, she will work with Jamila to explore how palliative care in the Peterbos neighborhood can be made more inclusive. By developing an accessible and culturally sensitive network of volunteer bridge figures, they aim to contribute to care that better reflects the neighborhood’s diversity.

We are very pleased to have them join us and wish Johan, Jamila, and Stephanie every success, inspiration, and job satisfaction at EVA bxl!
