Informal caregivers better supported: a neighborhood-level approach!

In 2012, EVA bxl wrote a report “Informal caregivers better supported: a neighborhood-level approach!”. The project application aimed to gain more insight into the work taken up by informal caregivers with a migration background and how they themselves view this informal care they bear. It also aimed to gain insight into the relationship between formal caregivers and informal caregivers. Moreover, we asked ourselves whether it is possible to work with “bridge figures” who could support informal caregivers with migration roots in the neighborhood. And if so, is it appropriate to prepare appropriate training for those bridge figures – experts by experience.

The report was realized by EVA bxl with support from the Federal Impulse Fund for Migrants, the Flemish Community Commission and the Flemish Community – Department of Welfare and Family.
