Neighborhood-oriented care
Healthcare organizations like to reach out to the diverse Brussels public. This also requires diverse and tailored offerings. Because good care is provided by everyone in their own way.
Seniors need a network of warm (in)formal care. Then they are best surrounded by citizens and organizations that know their stuff, close to them. The potential of people from immigrant backgrounds and informal care experience is too often overlooked in this regard.
In this project EVA bxl investigates how jobseekers with caretaking experience, who follow a VDAB recognized learning program, can take on a meaningful role. In parallel, healthcare professionals and volunteers from the Cureghem and Brabant neighborhoods will attend workshops on culturally sensitive and neighborhood-centered care. EVA bxl is pooling this experience to design and test a neighborhood-oriented care network for the elderly in Cureghem and the Brabant neighborhood.
