TADAMOUN (adzhis)

Together with a number of motivated partners, EVA bxl is working on a new, inclusive model of assistance and care for the elderly in the Helmet district of Schaerbeek, centered on seniors and built with them in mind.

Senior citizens living in Brussels’ disadvantaged neighborhoods still find little in the way of homecare services, and therefore rarely make use of them. A need for flexibility has therefore arisen in the face of the excessive rigidity with which the operating frameworks of professional care services are parameterized.

Supported by Innoviris’ co-create program, the first phase of our project, with the participation of aid and care professionals as well as volunteers, seniors and caregivers, enabled us to highlight the conditions of well-being needed to improve the quality of life of the elderly, by putting them back at the center of our concerns. Together, we were able to build a prototype of an assistance and care service for seniors, organized with them in mind.

The second phase of the project will enable us to work together over a 2-year period to test the various parameters of this system and identify actions that have a positive impact on people’s quality of life. At the end of this period, the challenge is to co-construct a global system adapted to people’s needs, local (implemented in the neighborhood), articulating the formal and informal network, and scalable to meet everyone’s needs.
