Ine started this week as initiative developer “Together for a Diploma”
Hi,
I am Ine, enthusiastic Limburgian who ended up in Brussels during my studies, and never left. Because I fell in love with the city. Brussels has inspired me for more than 25 years. Its dynamism and diversity, the world that comes together here, the rich cultures, but also the social challenges of living together and side by side in a city where not everyone gets the same opportunities, it has all crept into my heart.
And giving people opportunities, encouraging them to become their best selves, that’s something I really enjoy contributing to.
I did this, for example, at the culture unit of the Flemish Ministry of Education, where I helped to improve cooperation between culture and education, and where we challenged teachers to get more involved with culture by inspiring them and facilitating cooperation. Also at Lasso, the Brussels Network for Cultural Participation, I built bridges between different sectors and stakeholders to create more opportunities for cultural participation of young people in the Brussels Canal Zone. I translated ideas and needs into concrete initiatives and exciting experiments, always with an eye on sustainable impact and shared ownership.
I believe in the power of connection: not only between sectors and ideas, but especially between people. In collaborations, I therefore always look for connections and opportunities to strengthen everyone’s strengths.
At EVA bxl, I am looking forward to using what I bring in my backpack as an initiative developer for “Together for a Diploma.” Giving people opportunities not on their own, but together, and supported (by a mentor, etc.) to get a degree that allows them to participate and contribute more powerfully to society, that’s what I’m going for, with full enthusiasm. I look forward to getting to know the students, mentors and partners, and building a more equitable and inclusive Brussels together.
