Become a mentor at Together for a Diploma!
Would you like to work for a diverse Brussels and help increase the success rate of students with a history of migration in higher education? Would you like to use your experiences and skills in a valuable way? Do you believe in the talents of Brussels residents with a history of migration? Would you like to support them during 1 academic year in Dutch-speaking higher education? Motivate them, offer a listening ear, increase their self-confidence, give useful study tips.
Together for a Diploma is an initiative of EVA bxl vzw and is looking for passionate mentors(m/f/x)!
What to expect.
You will start working as a volunteer at EVA bxl and be part of a group of 20 mentors. EVA bxl offers three training moments before you start with the students. There will be 2 intervisions and time to meet the other mentors. We are shaping this new movement together, your voice is important!
What do we expect from you?
- A keen interest in helping others
- First-hand experience, knowledge and insights in the area in which you mentor
- Relationship building and interpersonal skills are crucial to effective mentoring
- Someone to help reflect and offer a different perspective
- Participation in the three training moments before the start of the course
- be available 2h/week for mentoring – in duo with the student.e you decide how this will take shape
- help reflect what the new movement Together for a Diploma might look like in the future.
